Analyst, Portfolio Strategy (NY, New York City)

Job Summary:

The Portfolio Strategist is responsible for delivering investment and wealth planning solutions to clients and prospective clients while driving growth and operational efficiency. Serving as the liaison between the advisory team and firm resources, this role blends business development, wealth strategy, and relationship management by leading prospecting campaigns, supporting financial planning initiatives, and enhancing systems that streamline client service delivery. This individual will collaborate with the home office to incorporate best practices and help drive key firm initiatives across the team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication across various channels, ensuring exceptional service and personalized attention
  • Build and maintain a systemized client service calendar covering meeting cadence, reporting, proactive touches, and deliverables
  • Support the advisor in prospect and client communications
  • Collect and manage appropriate documentation to develop a comprehensive understanding of client needs and preferences for wealth and investment planning

Wealth Strategy

  • Collect and organize financial profile data to support in-depth wealth strategy discussions
  • Utilize eMoney and other software to present tailored solutions
  • Maintain documentation related to planning recommendations and ensure updates are reflected across planning and CRM systems
  • Coordinate with Wealth Strategy team on estate planning, tax strategies, and business succession planning — tracking progress and following through on implementation

Investment Solutions

  • Construct recommended portfolio allocations for clients and prospective clients, incorporating investment research and reporting
  • Coordinate with Investment team on portfolio composition, manager selection, proposal presentations, and following through on implementation
  • Input orders within appropriate system and complete associated paperwork, if registered
  • As a registered representative, determine suitable trade activity to complement the portfolio strategies and manage cashiering needs
  • Review ongoing manager reports, performance, and alerts, taking necessary actions promptly

Business Development

  • Organize and lead proactive prospecting campaigns, including list management, outreach coordination, and follow-up strategy
  • Maintain and track a pipeline of prospective clients through CRM (Salesforce), with regular updates
  • Coordinate with Marketing team on specialized campaigns, events, and AI implementations
  • Draft and distribute prospect-facing communication, including email sequences, value-added content, and service outlines.

Talent Management

  • Proactively develop personal knowledge, skills and credentials to improve service delivery
  • Communicate development needs to ensure continuous professional growth
  • Assist with onboarding new members to the firm, fostering a client-focused culture

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 1-5 years in wealth management or a related field
  • Series 7 and 66 licensed preferred or willingness to acquire
  • CFP preferred or willingness to acquire
  • College degree
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Salesforce, Orion and Wealthscape preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including being polished, courteous, professional, and patient
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Possesses exceptional multitasking and strong time management skills
  • Experience working at an independent registered investment advisor (RIA) preferred
